you can use a skin that has a fullscreen button or you can use actionscript to hide your display and make your flv component cover the stage when you go fullscreen.
but i'm not using a flv component. I'm using a video object and my own custom player which i made from scratch.
Are you using the class "flash.geom.Rectangle" to "draw" the area of your .swf you want to go Fullscreen?
How the heck do I post code in this response? It seems I can't copy and paste or I would show you an example.
or you can use actionscript to hide your display and make your flv component cover the stage when you go fullscreen.
Show example please. But understand, the original post did not involve a component but a custom build video player.
Hello, I have a very similiar problem.
I am using the same method to go fullscreen, but I have a movieclip streaming an flv inside of the _root stage.
So eventhough I created the full screen button inside the "inner" movie clip - pressing it causes the entire stage to go full screen.
Instead I want just the movieclip playing the flv to go fullscreen.
This post says it was answered, but I don't see a clear solution that I can use.
I like the idea:
1. using some tool to select a designated a specific area to go full screen...
2. making the movie clip itself take up entire stage when going full screen...
both good ideas, but HOW would I go about it?
Any help, please.
when you go fullscreen reposition your movieclip to the top-left and use:
reset it when re-turning from fullscreen. ie, you'll need an onResize or onFullScreen listener.
kglad, thanks again for hooking me up with some great codes.
I solved my problem by using the fullScreenSourceRect method, but this looks very useful
