Image.scaleX = -1

Hi Alex,

Performance wise, is there advantage of using either "scaleX = -1" vs. "rotationY = 180"?

Thanks,

FT

I don't know about the performance comparison (I doubt it matters, but I'd have to benchmark it to know for sure), but that's kind of irrelevant: rotating by 180 degrees is not the same thing as flipping horizontally. You'll end up with an image that's flipped both horizontally and vertically.

Sorry, I missed the "Y" in your rotationY question (I assumed the default rotation-around-z property). Rotating about the Y axis would be equivalent (modulo slight differences in how objects might be represented when they go into 3D).

I would think that scaleX=-1 would be faster, just because the player doesn't have to do any 3D calculations for that operation.
