You can use InputBox:
Is there any way to fix this #$%^&* forum's editor ?

Slightly suspicious: browsing the first 100 or so posts, I see no mention of f**ed up editing. Perhaps it's only on the Adobe side ... (Which would be the ultimate irony, because, well, they're Adobe not Microsoft or anything!)
Thanks Robin for the quick reply. But is it possible to show the msgbox within the InDesign window? I want to let the user preview certain InDesign pages (auto rendered by script). If the user accepts a page, he can press "YES" within the InDesign window. Or if he wants something else, he can click "NO" to return to the controlling VB application to do something else. I just can't find a way to show the msgbox/inputbox within InDesign. It is not convenient for the user to switch back and forth between InDesign (for previewing the InDesign pages) and the VB application (for selecting YES or NO).
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Answering my own question -
1. Get handle to the InDesign window; and
2. Open a messagebox using Windows API.
