I've been given a video url that I want to pull into an the flvplayback component. The url for the video I've been given is:
The problem is when I set the contentPath with the above url the component won't load the video with the extra parameters ?var_log=102|441100001-1|- added as it says the path must end with .flv
I am asumming that the video provider needs this extra var/parameter to be called in order to track the number of video requests, in which case I will need to keep this in.
Therefore can anyone advise the best method for me to pull in the video while still sending out the tracking request.
use actionscript to assign the contentPath.
(but that won't be the same as a html page using the query string. it's likely the receiving url won't be able to handle that.)
The way we've got it working at the moment is that we are dynamically generating an .xml file that the video player uses. The flash then assigns the contentpath based on the contents of this .xml.
However the video player uses the flvplayback component which only takes files that end with the file extension (.flv) so it says the video path is an invalid url.
The easy way to fix this is to strip the end of the video URL off completly (up to .flv) but this won't pass the suppliers site the tracking info they need.
