    Multi-platform Flash Builder

    Alexandr Danilishin

I have a question for the developers to Flash Builder
If Flash Builder runs on Java, then why Flash Builder isn't a multi-platform and is released under a certain OS? Really Flash Builder depends on the specific system calls, if it works with multiplatform SDK?

Because to support the product they have to support the environments in which it runs and that costs time and

money. It may well run in more nvironments than Adobe says is supported, but if it doesn't - tough luck.

The runtime environments may well be similar across OS environments, but whose to say that one particular environment might have a platform-specific bug or deviation? You also have to consider installation and de-installation, etc.
