Is your source video HDV captured by Premiere Elements?
Also, which Share option and output preset are you using?
In most cases, you should not need to modify your output preset to get widescreen from widescreen.
- My source footage is HDV
- I didn't Share anything.
- Don't know where to set the Output Preset
- I simply went to File/Export/Frame
yes the HDV source is captured by PE7
Where are you using this image, and viewing it? Are you Importing it back into PrE as a "freeze frame," etc.?
So you're only trying to save a single frame from the movie?
Why not use the Freeze Frame tool (the little camera icon in the lower right of the Monitor)?
If you click this button and select the option to save the file, then go to Settings, you can change it to square pixels.
You should get one of my books. I cover all of this stuff in detail!
Steve, better late than never:
- Followed your instructions on page 263-264. no more squish, however I get a black border all aound the image. So, in Settings, I changed the Frame Size from "1440 x 1080" to "1920 x 1080" and it is now perfect!
Thanks for the help. BTW - great book!
Sounds like a great solution, r -- and thanks for the kind words about the book!
