I don't know of any way to globally change the Brush from Hue to Tints. I think it is one by one. You might find it easier to just use the Delete Unused Panel Items action from the Default Actions. This will remove any Swatches, Symbols, Brushes or Graphic Styles from you file which can also decrease file size by as much as 500k if you have a lot of extraneous items.
Cool! Thats much faster than going to each panel and deleting unused items!
Some files do in fact use a number of brushes which are all set to hue shift. Guess I'll just have to click each brush and reset manually.
For future use you might open the New Document Profiles you use the most and change the Brushes there so that new files won't have this problem.
I have but unfortunately I have to rework many legacy illustrations that have these brush settings! Arghhh!
Would a graphic style script or action work for you? Or combination.
Select all same strokes run the action to apply a graphic style perhaps
