Is there anyway to start playback from the middle of a selection?

Hi folks, I know you can to the whole pre-roll and post-roll thing, but often I would like to start playback either from the halfway point of a selection or just before the end of a selection.  My problem is that once making a selection repositioning the cursor causes the selection to dissapear so I'm wondering if there is anyway to start playback from a specified time within the selection rather then at the beginning.

Well I just figured out a workaround. I can set range markers for that selection, then just re-adjust the selection to where I want it to start, and simply double-click the marker to restore the original selection.

New Question: What is the significance in selecting "cue" markers vs. "beat markers"?  Is it just to remind you why you created the markers, because I see no difference in their implementation, I can set either a single marker or a range using both types, just wondering.

Oh and one more thing, when I drag clips to timestretch/compress them why does it change the pitch?  Because I thought timestretching was supposed to change the tempo only but I recently dragged the edge of a clip backwards to compress it and the pitch went higher it did not stay the same pitch, do I need to adjust a setting?  thank you for any advice.

I think it's simply that different tools use different markers. So if you use automatic beat selection, and process the results of it, markers that aren't beat markers (ie, cue ones) will be ignored. I've never mixed them up like that, and somebody would have to test this, but it would make sense.

If you right-click on a clip, you get options to change the looping and timestretch properties of it. It's worth remembering about right-clicking in Audition - it gives you rapid access to a lot of different stuff, depending on where you do it.
