I have opened an existing project (import from a Zip file) , and when trying to build the project I get the following message :
“unable to open 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flex Builder 3\sdks\3.2.0\frameworks\locale\nl_BE" . When looking at the existing folders inside the \locale path, there is en-US and ja-JP, each containing 6 SWC files.
What are those files and how can I get the ones that are missing ?
Those are used for localization parameters.
The problem is that you're trying to compile with a nl_BE locale, when your SDK only has en_US and ja_JP locales.
To get rid of this all you need to do is use the copylocale.exe file from your SDK to copy the en_US locale in nl_BE. This will create a folder nl_BE in your SDK, allowing you to compile with this locale.
copylocale en_US nl_BE
in the bin directory of your SDK.
More details here :
Thanks for the help above. To add a bit to this, on Windows 7 (and presumably Vista) the copylocale command has to be run with command prompt with administrative permission
