Thanks Ned -
You're right that is a helpful video. However it deals with a list component - do you know how to show the data in a standard dynamic text box?
Try to figure out where the data is being assigned to anything as it gets parsed, and that is where you can work in assigning it to textfields or whatever else.
Hi Ned - but I can't even find the code to do that.
var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
xml = new XML(e.target.data);
var il:XMLList = xml.channel.item.description};
The code you show is missing the part where the xml data is dispensed. This is what the tutorial shows for it inside the function....
for(var i:uint=0; i<il.length(); i++)
the lb would become your textfield instance name, and the value you assign to it might be either....
il.description.text()[i] OR il.title.text()[i] depending on which you intend to fill the textfield with.
tFieldName.text = il.description.text()[i];
I recommend you go thru the tutorial a couple times if necessary. It is explained very well in there, so there's really no need to echo what is explained clearly already.
