I am building a web site and will be hosting a number of other websites on it. I would like to know how I can have the other websites not have the .html in the address and still have the site work fine. For example www.mycompany.com/othercompany.html? I would like the address to appear in print as www.mycompany.com/othercompany and for someone to be directed to the right page when they type in the address like that. Right now all the pages have .html or php at the end and I dont want that, if I type in the address without the .html the page cannot be found. Is there a way to get rid of it and it still works fine? I am using photoshop and dreamweaver CS4 for the websites.
1) Create a site folder named info.
2) Move your info.html page to the info folder.
3) Rename info.html to index.html (or whichever default domain name is required by your server host). Usually index.html or home.html. If unsure, check with your host.
Thanks Nancy, that works perfect and its so simple. Thanks again!
