I have some crowd sounds playing in the background of a slide show about soccer. Every time the movie replays the sound file has to get loaded again and this results in a noticeable hiccup with no sound. Isn't there a way to somehow keep the sound loaded in memory so it can replay without having to reload? I've set the sound sync to stream and repeat.
thanks for any help
Embed the sound in the timeline/swf, and don't use streaming. If you use a preloader for the file it should eliminate any problems on the initial play, then once loaded it should remain in the users cache if their settings allow, and will until the cache is cleared, it should play then play "again" or on relaod from the user's machine's cache locally.
if the sound's attached to a timeline, the problem is not load-time. the problem is white space at the beginning and/or end of the sound file.
if you use the flash sound class, you can eliminate the white space.
If I don't use streaming, the edits I've made to the sound file (I cut off the beginning and end of the sound) don't work.
