Thankfully Director has an undocumented feature - a system variable called
the commandLine which corresponds to the operating system's command line.
Ive never gotten "the commandline" to work. You should look at the setPref() function in a stopMovie handler and then in the startMovie handler use getPref to see if you should jump to a different part of the movie. However if it is running off a DVD then this approach wont work since the prefs folder will be written in the same directory as the executiable (the moviepath). In that case you would need to use a FILEIO xtra solution where you write to the users drive and then on startMovie search for this file
If the commandline doesn't work for you, you can try BuddyAPI's
baCommandArgs() which I have used many times successfully. It will tell
you exactly what arguments were sent to the executable.
