tips for server-side use; getting started

I'm trying to create a form that sends the info automatically, coherently. "mailto:" pulls up an email client, which I don't want, but I never used server-side tech. before and don't know if I even can in my situation.

I tried creating these two files - http://www.codefixer.com/tutorials/sample_form_email_script.asp

I then put the 2 files (.asp + .html) into my server folder - connected locally through my work computer.

When I access the form.html through the internet, (http://www.srdar.org/aspnet_client/system_web/1_1_4322/form.html) fill out the form and submit - I get the error msg: "405 - HTTP verb used to access this page is not allowed... invalid method (HTTP verb) was used to attempt access"

When I access the form.html locally, fill out the form and submit, it directs me to a blank page entitled: "email sent" which is, I think, what's supposed to happen. Problem is, it doesn't send the email.

I don't know if I even have a server that can use ASP technology - but there is an ASPnet folder with an .html and a couple .js files... I just assumed it would work.. Any ideas? Something simple?
