I have installed Little Snitch on my Mac to Monitor outgoing connection requests to the Internet by installed applications. The program shows that the Abode Reader Update Helper want to connect to e935.g.akamaiedge.net tcp (tcp port 443). I am apprehensive about permitting this connection because the target domain name for the connection request is not adobe.com. Is this a legitimate site that the Adobe Reader Update Helper needs to connect to?
Nope - this is different. I've ripped the download manager off. This one is embedded inside /Applications/Adobe Reader.app, but I can't find where it's launching.
Anyone know how to permanently kill this thing? I hate having daemon's running and sucking up CPU cycles on my machine (and slowing down the boot process).
The following file in /~user/Library/LaunchAgents/ is the culprit. Delete the file and you're good to go, the daemon won't launch when you start the computer.
