Your problem is just what the error message says: you are trying to DL a sequence/clip from Pr to AE at the same time that you are trying to DL an AE comp back into Pr.
DL is one-way only.
I would be keen to see a thread that discusses the value of DL (PPRO : AEFX) and how it is used in editors workflows.
Dynamic Link v. Intermediates
I guess its up to me to start it.
Thanks for your response. I guess I need things dumbed down for me. I don’t understand why in just one day a project that I have got into numerous times with almost 8 AE comp. all of a sudden gives me this message what happen between yesterday and today to see this message?
-Not Real Technical Bobby...ha
Does anybody know why it would work fine one day and the next...poof
I get this above message. I didn't even make any new AE comp. I just o
pened up the project and all of a sudden all of my comps are offline and when I try
to like them I get the above message. I like everyone else am on a deadline and
need this to work correctly, what is going on?
here's an interesting thing. Say I got 3 externals, They show up as drive
If I didn't assign a drive letter when I formatted the drive, Depending the sequence on which the drives are recongized;
hd3 can = H
hd2 can = J
hd1 can = I
That would throw off the location of my media and would cause the entire project to go offline.
Also, since you're on a tight deadline and cant be bothered with the dynamic link problem, why not just render out your animations?
Thanks for your response,
I did go back and rendor each comp. and saved them again? Still getting the same message. Then I deleted them and tried to bring them in one by one again to put back into the sequence and same story. Am I skipping a step?
when i said render, i meant export from AE.
what do i export as?
I normally export as Quicktime Animation or PNG if I wanna preserve alpha channel.. but if you don't need to, you could export it with the same settings as your editing timeline.
That will work for the time being, thank you. Do you know why all of a sudden
I would recieve this message when nothing has been changed? Do you think it would be helpful just to reload the program?
Reloaded the entire suite and the problem is gone. When in doubt reload, it is sad that I've had to do this the number of times I have. Final Cut you are looking pretty sweet to me right now. Adobe get to work son! And get a call center back in the US! The only thing I get from your current call center is either one--someone telling me to read a document that has been sent to me 10 times or two-- hung up on....ahhhhhhhh!! Get it together!!
Sorry....side note---thanks everyone for your help
--if it wasn't for all you in these forums...I would be in a heap of trouble
