Dreamweaver renders my page differently than what is in the browser / doc types

      Hi all,

      I designed a webpage in
      <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

but have had to change the doc type to a
      <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd">

Which cause the page to be slightly renderd differently in the browser, with white space appearing.

My issue is that despite changing the doc type dreamweaver is still rendering the page like it initally looked with the

      <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"  "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

which is making it hard for me to correct the design under the new doc type.

I'm not sure what to do, change a certain setting in dreamweaver or what?

      Any help would be great
