layoutDirection is part of the Flex 4.x SDK. It's for layout mirroring. It's not supported by the 4.0 SDK, IIRC.
When you think Flex SDK will support that.
I'm hijacking the thread to ask about nightly builds!
Now that the sdk 4.0 is out and stable, would you advice using nightly builds for production ?
Hi Folks -
Just wanted to add some clarity around the different SDK builds available and which features are available in what build.
Flex 4 shipped on Monday, March 22! That is the framework that contains the new spark component & skinning architecture, spark components, improved compiler, 2-way databinding, advanced CSS and all the other awesome features in Flex 4. It does not support the "Layout Mirroring" feature (spec'ed here: http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Layout+Mirroring). That functionality (ie: support for the layoutDirection property) will be in a later release of Flex, which we're aiming to make available later in 2010. Builds containing that functionality are available on the opensource site as Flex 4.1 nightly builds (http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Download+Flex+4) so you can see the work in progress.
Hope that makes sense,
Flex SDK Product Manager
Thank you Peter
