Bill@VT Mar 24, 2010 11:08 AM (in response to Sudh@k@r)I have no idea what PNR is. However, the conversion process to PDF using Acrobat has the font embedding included in the job options. Since you have not given the details of how you are creating the PDF, it is hard to help. There are many ways and you need to list the steps you use.

Sudh@k@r Mar 25, 2010 12:50 AM (in response to Bill@VT)Thanks for looking into this!
PRN is same as Postscript file. We are generating Doc to PRN format then using Adobe Distiller for converting it to PDF file. How can we stop the substitution of the fonts? Also in earlier mail, I have attached the font details of the Adobe Distiller setting.
Can you please advise us is there any other option/setting? Our requirement is to do without substitute the font from DOC to PDF file.
Thanks & Regards,

Bernd Alheit Mar 25, 2010 1:25 AM (in response to Sudh@k@r)Why did you generate a Postscript file? In Word you can convert direct to PDF.

Sudh@k@r Mar 25, 2010 2:10 AM (in response to Bernd Alheit)When we converting Doc to PDF using Adobe PDF printer option if the system font are not found then the fonts are subsituted to some other fonts. Our finding is, for example: if the Doc file has the helvatica font which is not in my system that PDF should not be produced.
Please advise me how to do!
Thanks & Regards,

9. Re: How to avoid font's substitute in Acrobat distiller?
Bill@VT Mar 25, 2010 5:02 PM (in response to Maria prabhudoss)I am not sure I understand your question. You can convert without fonts using the smallest filesize job settings in the Adobe PDF printer. However, that is very dangerous and others may not be able to read your document if they do not have your fonts. Embedding fonts should generally be used unless you have a good reason not to include them.
