The quick selection tool is fixed as such, but the behavior will change with the brush radius.

SF Ellen Mar 24, 2010 4:36 PM (in response to D Fosse-QDEaQ1)Oh gosh! Your totally right--now why do I not see the magic wand tool in my tools palette? Is it gone in this version? How is it different from the quick selection tool?

D Fosse-QDEaQ1 Mar 25, 2010 12:42 AM (in response to SF Ellen)The tools with the small triangle in the corner have other tools hiding behind them.
Click-hold to pop a flyout, or cycle through them with the keyboard shortcut (in this case W).

5. Re: Quick selection tool/adjusting sensitivity
D Fosse-QDEaQ1 Mar 25, 2010 12:59 AM (in response to SF Ellen)The magic wand just selects contiguous areas of similar values to the sample point. The tolerance setting determines how similar.
The quick selection tool is supposed to be an "intelligent" version of the magic wand. Sometimes that works, sometimes not. Personally I find it way too unpredictable to be of any practical use, but that's just me.
