Hello everyone. My problem is that whenever I play my timeline or a source clip, sooner or later the playback always stops. It can run anywhere from a couple of seconds to a minute, but it always stops playing after a while. When it does this, nothing will happen when I press play again. The only way to get it playing again is to click out of the program, then back in again. But from this point I'm lucky to make it play more than ten seconds at a time.
This is incredible annoying and is making it impossible to do edit anything. Please help me, because I'm completely stuck here.
I'm running Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, Intel Core i7 CPU and 12GB ram.
UPDATE: I just tried disabling my sound card, and now it works. This obviously isn't a good solution because now I have no sound. Does anyone know how my sound card is messing things up? (Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio).
Just use on-board sound and dump the SB.
You might want to look into ASIO4ALL as your audio driver. It's free, and works very well with an extremely broad range of audio equipment from simple cards to esoteric studio-only gear.
PS - with my SB 24-Live 5.1, it was all that could get me editing in 5.1 SS.
