Let me ask you if you have a printer available, a default printer?
yes i followed the whole kb400760 process inclunding the default printer thing.
actually things are getting better now after reinstall + virus scan + defrag ! and also i change the working disk in the preferences from "default" to "c" and it seemed to help
i still have a slower file saving but at least i can work
thanks for your answers
You have virus protection software it was not on when you installed was it?
yes i had a anti virus software installed all the time. but when i re-installed Illustrator it was not ON (and i was disconnected from the internet).
i'm not sure it is the source of the problem.
really things changed when i moved the working disk from default to C into Illustrator preferences.
I don't mean to be rude but making decisions abut what is allowable and not allowable with computers based n your feelings is not a food idea IMO nd from my own experience.
Everyone knows that using virus protection when installing software can an often does cause serious problems, Depending o the software just having it installed sometimes does it like on the Mac this is one software though designed for the Mac is very bad news.
Moving on one of the things it can do is mess up the permissions because it is trying to not let the software go places it has to go.
You may have to repair your permissions and unfortunately i do not know the procedure on a Windows box and it is a manual procedure.
You should play it by the rues when you install software especially Adobe products.
