How do you connect to the database ? php?
This doesnt sound like a great idea. Really for loggin in you need top pass a user name and an MD5 hash of the password if possible over ssl. Server side you conpare the submission with your data and pass a logged in or not logged response.
I connect to the database via PHP. I created the connection using the "Create Application From Database..." menu item and I have created all of my connections to my different tables this way. Is there any simple place in the documentation which describes how a person can make the data unreadable?
For example, if I go to the actual php page it will display all of the data in plain text:
This means anyone can type in this URL and see everything. I need to somehow encrypt it and decrypt it when it gets into Flex or something. Surely this must have been an issue that has come up countless times before. I'm a fairly new, but fairly competent Flex programmer so if I could see the code examples of how people are solving this I can incorporate it into my application.
