If you're making a video for a TV station, they surely have delivery specifications. You must deliver video that matches these specifications. In other words, we're not the folks to ask; the TV station folks are. Of course, we can help you to understand what to do to meet their specifications.

Are you just handing off a short movie to your friend that he will use in his NLE to create the final show? If so, then ask your friend what he wants. Not knowing that, I'd say that the safest bet is to create a QuickTime movie with the video encoded using a lossless codec (e.g., PNG or Animation at 100% quality).
