    5hrs for 15mins of SD footage? (CS3)

      Hey everyone,

I'm new here to the Adobe forums but have been using Premiere and After Effects for 4 or 5 years.

I recently have been given more and more longer videos to work on (before I would do Visual FX on short 25-60 second scenes).

One video in particular is 15mins of SD 4:3 AVI video. They have finished the edit and all I did was color correct and add some fx in after effects. I then went to Premiere to add the ADR to the final edit. I am using Adobe Dynamic Link and import the comp from AE. I have started rendering the video but it is taking up to 5 hours and almost always failling. What seems to be the problem? Is this normal render times? (This is just rendering NOT exporting).

      Here are my system specs:

      AMD Dual Core x64

      nVidia GeForce 9600

      8gbs RAM

      700gb Hard Drive

      Windows 7 64bit

When I go to the task manager it shows my CPU using almost 100% while only 2gbs of RAM. I know CS3 doesn't support more than 4gbs but why only 2gbs being used?

      Thanks for the help!
