not understanding the Admin Install point concept

Could someone give me a run down of how this works? I have created an AIP for each full install version (9.0, 9.1, 9.2, 9.3) of Adobe Reader and patched accordingly, however, I am not able to get this to work, msiexec /a :uncpath to 9.0.msi /p :uncpath to 9.1.msi

I realized that what i was doing wrong was trying to patch an msi file with another msi file. What am I supposed to do in this instance? And again what is the significance of using the admin install point?

I forgot to mention, i push out all of my full installs over active directory group policies. Would I just create another GPO to install adobe 9.1 over 9.0, then another GPO to push 9.2 over 9.1 and so on?

      This is maddening.
