you're using an flvplayback component to display an flv? and, you're using a skin that has a seek control?
Yes to both. Every other control seems to work when I test the movie. And I've published it and tried the web page and it's exactly the same there. Thanks for the quick reply by the way.
is your flv more than 10 seconds long?
I must be doing something stupid. Straighten me out please.
When I am importing my video I have been selecting "Already deployed to a web server" since I thought that would be quicker. And the videos work fine on the website except for the lack of a seek function.
However, when I import the video file from my computer, the seek function is there. Yay. But now when I dump all the flash files on the website the video can't be found. I just get a blank screen. So I figure that I need to change some parameter (probably in the flash html file?) to have it locate the .flv video. But I can't find anything to change.
are you publishing for as2 or as3?
I think I have figured it out. I had to find and change the content path under parameters - source. I haven't tested it yet but I think it will be the answer. Such a simple thing.
edit - was still having problems but then I encoded the original mpg into flv with the built in flash encoder and that seemed to give me seek capability for some reason. Minor problem is the file size is almost double the size of the previous flv I was using. I'll have to play with the settings to get that down but I think this is really solved.
