    Macintosh system error 1409

      What in the world?!

       

      Lately everything I download from Safari is useless because it will not let me launch the installer. I get Mac system error 1409.

       

      What is that? Why? How can I fix it?

       

       

      I am running Mac OS X 10.4

       

      I think it started having these problems since my last Adobe update. Thanks Adobe!

          Error: -1409

          Macintosh system error (-1409) * Named  fork does not exist */ error

           

          The info I have on this error means that some part of the  OS is damaged or missing, (assuming that the HD directories & such  aren't messed up).

          You should use the Disk Utility to repair permissions on your Hard Drive. If that doesn't do it:

           

          Try reinstalling the most recent combo update (10.4.11 I believe) from Apple. It's also possible that you will have to do an "Archive & Install" to repair your system files.
