I'm trying to create a CSS page using an existing html page in Dreamweaver. Is it possible? I have been looking at chp 2 in the Dreamweaver for the classroom book it tells me how to load one, but I need to make one so I can make the site uniform. I have like 10 or so pages plus I would like to retain the info so I can do it again. My index has all the css that I need. I made it a css and DW says it can't read as a css because it's html, if that makes sense. I'm trying to take that page and have that set for the whole site.
I'm not sure I follow you. A style sheet needs to be just css - it can't contain html. Does the sheet you are trying to save as css have html in it?
In DW, hit File menu > New > CSS.
In code view, copy the CSS rules from your HTML document's <style type="text/css"> and </style> tags.
Paste them into your new, blank CSS page. Save As some-filename.css
