1. Re: unable to create image buffer error, when I have plenty of space
Stan Jones Apr 4, 2010 7:24 PM (in response to computerskillme)I was tracking the other thread, and started replying here, thinking that, even though I can't add anything technically, I'd pass on my one thought. Then the blasted forum code bloat yet once again wiped out my response, with no time left before I had to head out. I'm back and there is still no response to your post, so, here's my thought...
I would create a new project, pull in a template menu, delete all but one button. Create one timeline, keep it short (but say 5 minutes or so so you're build won't require padding), link the timeline/button, and see if that will build. (If your short timeline needs to be transcoded, do that before the build. Just makes troubleshooting easier.
Will that build?

2. Re: unable to create image buffer error, when I have plenty of space
computerskillme Apr 6, 2010 10:00 AM (in response to Stan Jones)I created a minute project, ADL into Encore. One menu with one button. No chapters. It transcoded and burned a DVD.
Now if I can just figure out how to get my other videos to work. I'm creating a new Encore project, ADL the client's video, and started the transcoding. (I hope it works!!!). There's only three chapters. But I haven't added a menu yet, but will do so ONLY after the video is transcoded, if it does.
If it doesn't, I'll delete the chapters and will only add them if the video transcodes.

3. Re: unable to create image buffer error, when I have plenty of space
computerskillme Apr 6, 2010 10:47 AM (in response to computerskillme)Nope, transcoding doesn't work on a fresh project with nearly 2 hours and three chapters.
Same error: Unable to Create Image Buffer. And computer crashes - can't click out of that dang error message.

4. Re: unable to create image buffer error, when I have plenty of space
Jeff Bellune Apr 6, 2010 11:00 AM (in response to computerskillme)Something is very wrong on your system. If a short project transcodes, but your client's project won't, and if the only real difference between the 2 is length, then I suspect a hardware problem. Heat or faulty components or both.
Can you transcode the entire sequence to MPEG2 DVD using Premiere and the AME?

5. Re: unable to create image buffer error, when I have plenty of space
computerskillme Apr 6, 2010 1:00 PM (in response to Jeff Bellune)So far I created an .avi file of the client's video and was able to burn a DVD successfully with Pinncle Studios 12 (Adobe could learn a lot from Pinnacle's easy DVD authoring).
I just hope that I created the most highest quality .avi file though. I had chose Microsoft AVI, Video Codec: DV NTSC, Field Type: Lower First, and clicked on Render at Maximum Depth. Is that the best? If not, what should I have chosen?
Right now I'm trying to install the 4.0.1 patch for Encore but I'm getting the error
Applications Running
Please close the following applications and retry to continue installing updates:
PhotoshopServer.exe
processcoordinationserver
But I have NOTHING open.
-----------------------
Now for your question, I have opened my client's video in Premiere Pro CS, clicked on Export, Format: MPEG2-DVD, Quality 5, Frame Rate 29.97 non-drop frame, expanded the source file so that ALL of it is rendered (very stupid for Adobe to have only half of it selected by default), clicked okay. AME popped up, so I clicked on Start Queue.
I have no idea what to do with the other settings, so I left them at their default settings. (If you know of the correct settings that I should use for best quality, please let me know).
This video seemed to render fine, but there's no audio. I looked back at the settings, and the audio box was checked.

6. Re: unable to create image buffer error, when I have plenty of space
Bill Hunt Apr 7, 2010 12:11 PM (in response to computerskillme)I would try from a cold boot. If you get the same error message, try from Safe Mode.
If you have Bridge, check that it does not pre-launch from the OS's Startup. There is a Preference in Bridge, or you could use MSCONFIG to limit it from starting on a temporary basis.
If you like the semi-automatic authoring, with the limitations, you might want to check out PrElements, as it has a built-in authoring module, like Pinnacle Studio's. Do not know what the later versions of Studio offer, but personally, I could see little use for either the authoring in up to Studio 10, or in PrE - just too limited with no real ability to control things. Maybe Studio is more robust nowadays.
Good luck,
Hunt

VOPRO Apr 7, 2010 12:17 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)Bill, I think you are forwarding this info to the wrong person. I'm the guy
who was asking questions about the hiss and hum I get from Adobe Audition.

8. Re: unable to create image buffer error, when I have plenty of space
Bill Hunt Apr 7, 2010 12:31 PM (in response to VOPRO)My reply was relative to a PM, asking about Audition. As I have not used Audition to record from a computer's mic/web-cam, my suggestion was to post to the Audition forum, and I am sure that there will be users, who have done so, and can direct you properly.
Not sure how this thread got involved, but stranger things have happened - recently the Adobe PM system was hacked, and many users got spammed because of it. Maybe that left a "rabbit hole?"
Good luck,
Hunt

9. Re: unable to create image buffer error, when I have plenty of space
computerskillme Apr 7, 2010 6:44 PM (in response to computerskillme)Right now I'm reinstalling Windows 7. Then I'll re-install the Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 Creative Suite. And I'll do the patch as well. I really hope this will help. Otherwise, I really have no idea else what to do. I just wished that I wasn't having all these problems with Adobe.

10. Re: unable to create image buffer error, when I have plenty of space
computerskillme Apr 8, 2010 3:29 PM (in response to computerskillme)Well, this was interesting.
Re-installed Windows 7 and the whole Adobe Creative Suite CS4.
I transcoded my most important project. Then I noticed, that most of the video was "offline" since all my files were moved to a different disk drive. So I finally got all the offline files linked up to the correct ones, I re-did all my menu links since they were all broken when I checked the 'check project' button.
When everything was fixed, I tried to transcode again, and after it just starts transcoding the audio, I get that damn "unable to create image buffer" error!
Why oh why does Adobe let a bad project transcode, but not a good one? My stress level is way past it's normal range now. What the heck is going on with Adobe?

11. Re: unable to create image buffer error, when I have plenty of space
computerskillme Apr 8, 2010 6:08 PM (in response to computerskillme)I installed the patch, restarted the computer, and now the transcoding for the major important video works.
Now I'm starting a DVD burn. I'll post the results when done.
