    uploading inconsistancies

Dreamweaver 4 just started to upload some files "successfully" and some "unsuccessfully" in the same update.

The file activity window looks like this...

      Started: 4/5/10 10:48 AM

      menu.html - Put operation successful
      Operation timed out. Cancelling...
CSSFiles:olp_1.css - error occurred - An FTP error occurred - cannot put olp_1.css.  Access denied.  The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem.   Make sure you have proper authorization on the server and the server is properly configured.
      Connected to OLP.
      SpryAssets:SpryMenuBar.js - Put operation successful
      Operation timed out. Cancelling...
SpryAssets:SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css - error occurred - An FTP error occurred - cannot put SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css.  Access denied.  The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem.   Make sure you have proper authorization on the server and the server is properly configured.

      images:menu:2010:menu_front.jpg - Put operation successful
      Operation timed out. Cancelling...
images:menu:2010:menu_back.jpg - error occurred - An FTP error occurred - cannot put menu_back.jpg.  Access denied.  The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem.   Make sure you have proper authorization on the server and the server is properly configured.

File activity incomplete. 3 file(s) or folder(s) were not completed.
      Files updated: 3

      Files with errors: 3
      CSSFiles:olp_1.css
      SpryAssets:SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css
      images:menu:2010:menu_back.jpg

      Finished: 4/5/10 10:51 AM

Some files are uploading and some not. When I test the server connection through site definition it says "Adobe Dreamweaver connected to your webserver successfully."

The files that the above says were uploaded successfully are not uploaded.

The uploader has always worked fine up until a few days ago. Thanks for any suggestions

The messages are pretty clear - the files on the server do not have correct permissions. As to why it's doing this, is unclear, but perhaps your user does no longer own the directory or some server script is setting permissions wrongly. Hard to advise without actually knowing what server and settings, but just logging on to you myPHPadmin and changing default permissions for new files might resolve this.

            Thanks for your reply.

I have reset the permissions on the host site and get the same thing. Also, the uploader is taking for ever. It says it has to reconnect for each file. Does anyone know how to upload just the revised file and not all associated files?
