    Connecting to a WCF Self Hosted Web Service

    hhainsw

      I have a question, I am trying to connect to a self hosted WCF web service and I am recieving what I think is odd behaviour.

      The cross domain file is embedded in the web service and looks like this:

      <cross-domain-policy>
      <allow-http-request-headers-from domain="*" headers="*"/>
      <site-control permitted-cross-domain-policies="by-content-type"/>
      </cross-domain-policy>

      I am trying to decide if I am calling the service wrong or if the cross domain needs to change. Usually when I call other services I include a statement to allow domains, but this cross domain is embeded in the service so I don't want to have to rebuild the service unless it is necessary.

      Here is where the weird part comes in, if I debug/run the applicaiton using the adobe flash player only it works I can connect to the service and get results, however if I run the application using a HTML wrapper page (so including it in IE) it doesn't work I get security sand box violations.

      So is this a issue relating to the settings of the crossdomain file or is it how I am calling the web service?
