Font-stretch only works with fonts that have the variants that you specify as part of that font-family, so in your case above, you're unlikely to see any difference because:
a) I don't have the Eurostyle font installed
b) Verdana doesn't have an extra-expanded variant.
In fact, there are not many font families that do have most of those variants and they're usually non-standard fonts so there's pretty much no use to using font-stretch.
