    Multiple style sheets

    Magoeba

      Dear Forum moderators,

I want my index page to look largely different from the rest of the site; sharing the same top and bottom banners but for the rest different. Should I create and add a new style sheet just for this page, and linked only to this page? Should the main CSS document not be attached to this page, or will the style sheet mentioned second in the code (the one especially for the index page) override the first, default style sheet?

Is there standard practice for naming a second style sheet?

I looked at the code of the Adobe site and found code that reads: <link rel="alternate" type=" [...]">

Should I call the index page style sheet 'alternate'?

      Thank you and regards.
