Im having the darndest luck trying to do this but here goes.....
I have a Audio Recording Software (DAW) that im trying to make a presentation on using the video capture, andeverything works just fine....but the recording is not capturing the audio from the program.
I have checked out the audio recording settings, and it only shows "mic inputs" for devices. I dont want Captivate to record inputs, but i want it to record the audio (from the soundcards output) that the recording software is playing.
Any ideas?

Hi,
I am assuming you are using Adobe Captivate 4.
To record audio directly from soundcard's output, your soundcard should support such a functionality. If it does, check the audio devices shown by Captivate. This can be found using menu item Audio > Audio Settings > Device.
You will need device called 'Stereo Mix' or 'System Audio'. If its present, select it and star recording. Now you should get the recording the way you want it.

Mukul

Ill give this a try. If i remember correctly, when i checked out captivate box (found on upper left corner of screen) and looked at the audio settings for recording, it only gave me 3 options (3 different mic inputs), and nothing about stereo mix or system audio. Only mic inputs.
Ill have to check it again tonight and dig a little deeper.

Hi there
Assuming that you find you are simply unable to coax Captivate into recording the audio, here is a workaround. Obtain a small patch cable that connects the Speaker out jack to the Microphone in jack. Then record accordingly.
Cheers... Rick
