The 16 x 9 flag is not properly recognized. That is why many call this player QuiRckTime.
Oh ok so what you mean is its quicktime, not my settings, and that I should seek another .mov player?
Try with VLC or MPC.

So annoying since ive been exporting it out all day with different resolutions and stuff only for quicktime to still play it in 4:3 . . and I thought quicktime was the best player for .mov

Well, it's A player for MOV, but at least the PC version, has all sorts of issues, even with what should be its native format. Many try to keep it out of the mix, as much as is possible. It seems to also have issues with gamma.
