I use CS3 with a Matrox Pahelia dual monitor graphic card which I purchased 10 years ago. It does a fine job. However being 10 years old it is not a great "performance" beast. Here is the question: Am I loosing out on anything in terms of rendering speed etc. by not upgrading the graphic card? In other words, does CS3 use the graphic card processor to render? Should I upgrade? Thank you.
No current version of Premiere uses the GPU for rendering
CS5 will use the GPU of some nVidia cards... but CS5 is 64bit only, so may require a new computer and OS for you to use
There is a video sneek peek at http://cs5launch.adobe.com/ showing what CS5 will do
Currently, the nVidia GTX 285 is the least expensive card that is supported... at least, that is the pre-launch information
Go to the NEW CS5 section at the top of the forum, where there is a PRELIMINARY list of cards
