    help to youtube

    Eric Santana II Level 1

I did a small video about 1 minute long and uploaded to youtube and worked fine, then I tried one about 8 minutes 1.12gb. first tried the same way I did on the first one and didnt work, it errored. Then tried h.264 and both ended up error.

I rendered, then exported, any guesses of why it didnt work?

Think they have a 10 min limit on stuff...and if rejected they usually tell you the reason ( go to "my video" area to look at reason if failed )

                Eric,

One of the things, that one must consider about YouTube, is that they change their required specs. monthly, or more often, if it suits them. With things like Presets in an NLE program, those are probably well over a year old, so may, or may not work.

First, one has to get the spec. du jour from YouTube, and make sure that everything fits into their Sequence Export settings. One might well have to tweak things, test, and tweak again.

There are several threads on this forum, suggesting settings. However, if they are over a month old, they are probably moot today, and things could well be different next week. The goal posts keep being moved, with great regularity.

                Good luck,

                  Adobe CS4

                  1) Render entire project, save, Export.

Am I doing atleast this part right?

Rendering is for smooth playback. Depending on your footage, and what you are doing to it, Rendering may, or may not, be necessary. I do plenty of Projects, where I never Render, but others, with Keyframed animations, or Effects, where I might Render a portion dozens of times.

                    Good luck,

                      TY. Now step 2.

I have tried multiple different ways. and still cant upload to youtube. Is there an easy way to do this, maybe I shouldnt be doing HD? or what.

Is there a specific step that should work all the time?

                      PLEASE HELP!

                        Eric,

Are you getting any error messages?

Do the files meet the requirements of YouTube, regarding the duration and file size?

I do not upload to YouTube, so am not the best person to help here.

                        Good luck,

I updload to YouTube quite often and find any H.264 progressive vids i throw at it will work and turn out to be good quality and in HQ.

Here is a link, I've used, to get what you're looking for  http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2007/12/08/exporting-with-adobe-premiere-in-720p/

If you're not dealing with 720P content you can easily use the same settings for different types of video and come close to achiving what you want.

No error message it just says error.

I have gone through all my settings to see if something looks off and still cant figure it out. Each video that I have gone through this process will not upload.

I am lost. Is there anyone out there that has done this and is very familiar with what I am trying to do that can email their phone # that I can talk to? I would greatly apprecaite it. my email is santana@npgcable.com

                            Thanks, Eric

                                  Eric,

Let's think about some things on the YouTube end of things:

1.) seems that they have a 10 min. limit. You are below that, right?

2.) seems that they have a max. file size. You are below that, right?

3.) some uploading sites and operations, will choke on longer file names, and also spaces, or special characters. If 1 & 2 have been satisfied, I'd name the files something really easy, short, with no extended characters, and the _ (Underscore), in lieu of any spaces.

4.) not sure of YouTube accounts, and maybe limits on per/day, per/week, etc., but you might want to investigate the account, just in case.

That is about all that I can think of right now. Hope that others with YouTube experience can fill in the blanks on 1 & 2, as I can only try and recall what others have commented on.

                                  Good luck,

                                    Hi,

Sorry to hear you're still having trouble. I think you need to tell more about what exactly is going on.

What kind of video do you have in your editor ? Since we know you want to upload it to YouTube you don't have to tell us how you tried to export it... we can tell you how to export it once we know what kind of video you have in the editor.

Then you can upload it to YouTube and you will be happy.

                                    Rod

(I hope you are not using the computer "cup holder " for your coffee)

I took the video file from my computer to a memoery card and took it to my computer guy, he uploaded to youtube, it must be my computer or my interent service.

Once I get a new computer and redo, I will let you know if it works.

                                      Thanks,
