I use Audition V2 and have changed to Windows 7. When recording from an external souce via the sound card it asks for the old XP file SNDVOL32 /r which is not in Windows 7. The new file is SNDVOL.EXE.
How do I fix this? Is there a patch available? I love Version 2 and as a pensioner can't afford to upgrade to V3.
Perhaps make a copy of sndvol.exe and rename it to sndvol.exe? I seem to remember that there was a fix for various versions of CEP/Audition to make it look for a different soundcard control software. Probably involved editing the Windows registry though.
Ah, not quite. Here it is from the Audiomasters FAQ:
Ryclark - Thank you. I am really thankful for the advice - it worked. After rewriting the file I went to went into Audition 2, Edit, Audio Hardware Setup, Control Panel and opened the input and output devices. Great to have supportive forum members such as yourself.
