Since I upgraded to Vista, I've noticed that sometimes AME doesn't want to start encoding..it just sits and sits, and never begins.
Every time I cancel the encode, AME crashes.
Usually when I restart AME, or reboot and try again, it works.
Sometimes, cleaning the media cache in Premiere Pro seems to help.
I still have to read the forum post on "Guide for Installing a Vista System", but anyone have any info on Vista performance?
It looks like you are a bit impatient.
Of course it depends to a very large degree on your hardware and software how much time you have to wait, but without details it is hard to guess whether you have to wait 20 seconds or 20 minutes.
Usually it starts encoding right away...but lately, sometimes it seems it won't ever start....
I find if I export a Matrox AVI, using my Matrox hardware, then import that AVI into Media Encoder, then the encoder starts right up and works great.
So it seems importing from PPro is the trouble spot...maybe somthing going wrong with my ImporterProcess or something...
Vista performance is about par with XP and slightly slower than Win7.
