Does anyone know of a product that would allow my company to store PDFs on a server and then be able to search them from workstations? Our publication is also created as an digital edition. We're storing the digital pages with the company that's hosting our web site but the storage fees are starting to hurt. Of course, storage is easy; it's making the pages searchable that presents more of a problem to us.
Google's search engine can search the content of pdfs that are not purely images. I believe you can pay Google so that you can run their search on your own server. You could store the files with Google or Amazon at a relatively inexpensive rate.
