Capture window shows no image, and when editing the picture is jerky and and freezes

      Hello

Can anyone give me any suggestions as to the faults.

I am running Adobe premiere 8.0 on a HP computer running Windows XP and is set up for editing only (meaning only adobe and the computer software is on the computer) that has the software on one hard drive with 225.91 GB all for its self, and the editing is saved onto my second hard drive which has 279.95 GB and anything else goes onto another hard drive which has 232.88 GB. The CPU is an INTEL CORE 2 6600 @2.40ghz, and the memory is 2.0 GB thats 4 modules. The video capture card is a RADEON X1600 series with 512.00 MB memory.

When I capture HD video the Capture window shows no image, and when editing the picture is jerky and and freezes although the sound is playing. It's impossible to see if your transitions are ok as it jumps past them as it jerks so much, its very frustrating. Has anyone any ideas as to what might be causing this.

      Cheers

      Daryl
