I'm trying to create dynamic text boxes through actionscript
which essentially isn't difficult. But i have 2 issues,
1. I don't know how much text is going to be in the box so i
want to resize the box according to the amount of text. I cant
resize the actual text as i need continuity.
2. I need the position to change in relation to the previous
are either of these things possible and has anyone done them
I've attempted to do this using arrays of text boxes created
through textfield and use the _x and _y property of the previous
box to decide the _x and _y property of the current box. This
doesn't seem to work, it ignores the value of the previous box.
I solved this issue. I knew the width of the textfield as
that was constant. so i could see how many characters could fit on
a line. I counted the characters and divided this number by the
number that could fit on a line and did a math.ceil to get it to
round up. I then mulitiplied this result by the minimum height that
will fit and display one line and made this number the height.
