I don't know of one.
You can set the Reader preferences to automatically download the updates, but by default it won't install them automatically, because Reader needs to be closed in order to update. Setting a key to attempt installs while the software is open can have undesired consequences, such as lost documents, or damage to the reader software or Windows Installer which will affect all software installations thereafter.
@Mac+Win=Me, as of patch 9.3.2 yesterday there is a new update preference "Automaticlly Install Updates", this is the preference I need the registry key for. I am deploying this patch and do not want to count on my users to manually enable this new setting
I never said there was none.
I said I didn't know of one.
And since I didn't write the 9.3.2 patch, I would have no knowledge of what was in it, since I just installed it a few hours ago.
Just a reminder:
This is a "user to user" forum and questions about network wide mass deployment of updates and how to alter the software for such are best addressed in Adobe Support where developers can be contacted for answers if need be.
Thank You, that's what I was looking for.

I'm looking for the opposite of what you're looking for. That is, I'd like to disable auto update feature on 50+ PCs without having to visit each PC and log on as Administrator to configure the setting. That's too much work.
It sounds like I can accomplish this by setting iCheck value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe ARM\1.0\ARM registry key.
What's the default value of iCheck on a clean Adobe Reader installation? Put it another way, what is the default behavior of Adobe Reader automatic update? I'm hoping that it's disabled by default.
Not sure what the default value is, I used Adobe customization wizard to make a transform file on my previous deployments that disabled the automatic updater. You're on the right track though, configure a startup script under the computer configuration of your GPO since iCheck is a local machine key and add a key that sets iCheck value to 0. Since you want to disable updates you could also just use the Adobe Customization Wizard 9 to create a transform as it will allow you to configure that preference but didn't have the new Automatic Install setting I was looking to enable as an option.
Default continues to be download and prompt for install.
