Hello, I am having a problem with a project for school.
In a video I am making, I need to add animation over a live video. For example, in one scene, I have videotaped myself running. Now, I want to add the picture of a ghost chasing me. Both layers are moving. My question is, can I do this easily in flash? I have not used Flash before and if it is complicated, I would rather not to try. I've talked to some friends who have used Flash before and some say it is the perfect program for my need while others claim it would either not be able to do it, or be really hard to.
Is Flash suitable to my needs?
If not, is there another program that is?
There's no judging what might be complicated for you. Your best bet will be to try and see. You can get a trial version of Flash, import your video into it, and see what it takes to add in the animation for a few frames or so. Within an hour you might have an idea if this will be within your measure of complication.
Thank you, so it is possible to add animation over video. Is there any tutorials on how to do this?
Google is a good resource for finding Flash tutorials. What you can do is place your video on one layer and then build your animations on layers above it so that they appear over the video. Building the video into the timeline should be fine if this is not a web-based endeavor (potential file weight issues otherwise) and will allow you to synchronize things better.
