swf file plays overtop of all layers

Hi- I am hoping someone can shed some light on this problem-
I am building a site that has a swf menu- and I have a small png file that is inside a layer, overtop the layer with the swf file. When I test the site, however, the swf file plays overtop of the png- what would be a good way to correct this problem?

      Thank you for any advice!

Bad news, This is a well know problem as flash (and any other active x
component) will always grab the top most position on the page, and layers
won't help. You can set a Wmode=transparent in the parameters of the flash
          movie.

FYI beyond the current problem, Flash menus are rarely a good idea. They are
inaccessible, invisible to search engines and invisible to users with Flash
disabled or not installed (likely more than you think). I suggest a good CSS
based menu system like those from www.projectseven.com. I use them on all
            sites currently.

I agree with Paul and Walt, but setting the swiff to transparent would
need sometimes to download and requires more power of computer processor.

You can design the menu with animated gif (of course to imitate the
flash effect) and use css list menu.

                Nonsense.

You can also use swf object to replace text links with flash menu if you absolutely must have it in flash

That would surely be like the leap from the frying pan into the fire.
