In Preferences under Search, there is a check box to Ingore Asian character width.
I don't know if this will affect anything but text searches, but you might give it a try.
Thanks for your reply, but that didn't resolve the problem
This is a problem in PDF creation. Most good creators of PDF will embed the font inside the file, this one doesn't and hence if you have the appropriate font installed, you'll be able to see this correctly.
Can't see a way out other than finding more about what the sender is using for PDF creation and asking them to use standard fonts or creation tools to create the PDF.
Thanks for clarifying that.
They are using trial verison of pdffactory to generate the document.
Is there a quick way in adobe reader to change font of entire document?
Reader is a reader only. To edit, you will need Acrobat Pro.
Nope, there is no quick way to change fonts in either Reader or Acrobat (the paid product). Well, there is a way in Acrobat but isn't as simple as a find and replace. You'll need to edit each line of text and change the font.
Your best bet would be to either ask the document creator to try a different font or a different PDF creation application.
