    HTTPService with https

    Francisc Level 3

      Hello!

Can I use HTTPService to send POST data to a url that is https?

      Thanks!

Yes, I do it all the time.  However, if using Flex, it is a good idea to hit the POST url with the browser first.  If there are any certificate issues, the flex call does not give you the option to add an exception.  If you hit it with the browser, and deal with any certificate issues first, then the https calls work fine.  If you get 2032 errors, this is the first thing to check.  Drove me crazy until I figured out what was going on.

Hm, but that would mean all the people who use it should open the page with the browser and add the exception first then Flex... hmm, that's not really something I can recommend my clients.

If this is the issue, your post was a great help, though.

Remember, it is only a problem if the certificate on the https site has a problem.  For production sites, you should have a valid, no problem certificate, so it shouldn't be an issue. I only had the problem with our development site, that we use a self generated certificate for.
