1. Re: Feature request-Command J should make a duplicate layer group
c.pfaffenbichler Apr 18, 2010 11:14 PM (in response to retouchMOJO)Being able to duplicate LayerSets with command-J, too, would indeed be an improvement.

Reynolds (Mark) Apr 23, 2010 12:56 PM (in response to retouchMOJO)Yes. I asked for this once already in Feature Requests. Its not consistant that Command J while on a layer group, does nothing.
Since I hear they have done some re-jigging to the layer panel code - I hope they will have sorted this in CS5.

carson.jones Apr 25, 2010 4:58 PM (in response to retouchMOJO)This would make perfect sense - let's hope it's added to the JDI list.

TG111 May 15, 2010 11:40 AM (in response to c.pfaffenbichler)Yes I agree with this . . . it makes much more sense to have the Control-J and drag/drop on the new-layer icon, both do the same thing, whether it's a single layer or a group. Good idea, I vote for this one too

PECourtejoie May 16, 2010 1:57 PM (in response to TG111)On the same vein, Command+Clicking the add new adjustment layer should create it below the currently selected layer, for consistency.

Thumbs up!

Just as Command J OR dragging a layer to the Make New Layer icon make a duplicate of a layer, Command J should make a duplicate of a layer set (group). But instead you have to drag the layer set to the New Layer icon. There should be o reason why Photoshop doesn't let the user duplicate the set in this way... it’s much simpler.
