Hello. I've been trying to download the Reader now for 2 weeks. I have Windows Vista (64 bit) and my browser is Firefox. Firefox started telling me it wasn't "responding" so I went there first. Uninstalled some kind of Java Script "toolkit" because it advised to do so. Then checked cookies (all were allowed) and Java script enabled as well. Ran a scan of the Computer Registry and some other "errors" that were "fixed". These errors regarded "file associations".
Called Adobe for help; and they re-routed me here (because I didn't buy their product--I'm on a TRIAL). Please help somebody...I'm NOT a programmer, and I'm running out of options here. Thank you. (getting crazier and crazier by the day).
Do you have an earlier version of Adobe Reader installed? If so, remove it with the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.
Next download the installer http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3/enu/AdbeRdr930_en_US.exe; save it to disk, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer.
